Following the successful collaboration with the Galiano Conservancy Association to protect the 116-acre Quadra Hill property, Aqueduct is expanding this unique model. The Fund enables British Columbia land trusts to apply for full funding to secure ecologically sensitive land offered for sale by private landowners.
Too often, land trusts lack the immediate resources to purchase environmentally significant properties when they are offered for sale, resulting in the loss or appreciation of those lands before they can be protected. The Bridge Fund provides rapid, interim capital to secure these properties, safeguarding them until land trusts can complete permanent acquisitions.
